World Beat Festival Art Contest Winners Announced

The Salem Multicultural Institute and AC Gilbert’s Discovery Village are proud to announce the 2011 World Beat Festival Art Contest winners. Each year, children from kindergarten through 12th grade submit artwork based on the Festival’s theme, which this year is Mexico....(see full release)

World Beat Festival Wins State Award

SALEM, OR
March 3, 2011

The 2010 World Beat Festival has been named “Best Music Festival Within a Festival or Event” by the Oregon Festivals & Events Association (OFEA) at their annual convention in Bend, OR. It’s the fifth consecutive major award for the festival from OFEA, which exists to support and promote all festivals and events within the state. Previous awards include Best Performing Arts, Best Festival, and Best Cultural Heritage Event in Oregon....(see full release)

The Salem Multicultural Institute (SMI) and World Beat invites the community to capture compelling and interesting images of diverse, local ethnic cultural heritage through two separate photographic opportunities now available.
